John Ritter's widow, actress Amy Yasbeck, is also working on a book about the late actor.

Season 1 released in Britain
8 Simple Rules: Season 1 was released on DVD Monday in the United Kingdom, and already Play.com have sold out! The competitive price and quality of the show seem to have meant fans are buying them at incredible speed, but if you're not one of the lucky ones to have already purchased the DVD then you can still get it for the great price of £11.98 at Amazon.co.uk - HMV.com & Play.com don't even have it in stock!
Visit Amazon.co.uk and get the DVD for £11.98 today.
With Season 1 now released, British fans are of course wondering when Season 2 might grace the DVD shelves here, unfortunately things on this front aren't very clear. As you may recall, Buena Vista Home Entertainment (the distributor of 8 Simple Rules) recently sold the rights for the show to another company. Buena Vista are a very busy distributor, working on hits such as Lost & Desperate Housewives, and thus didn't have time to work on the less popular shows like 8 Simple Rules. We can't confirm whether that deal extends to the U.K., so the question is who will release 8 Simple Rules: Season 2 and when? The timing of any release is unknown, Lionsgate Home Entertaintment are working on a Season 2 DVD in the U.S. but haven't announced anything. What is for certain is that fans will probably have another long wait to see the DVD here in Blighty.
Season 1 almost here!
The long awaited Season 1 DVD of "8 Simple Rules" will land on British shores in just 2 days for the very low price of £11.99 (depending where you shop!).
So if you haven't yet ordered yourself a copy, you can get it for that fantastic price at Amazon.co.uk. If you're planning on buying it at a high street store on Monda then do beware that you might end up paying as much as £16.99 for it.
For our American & Canadian readers, Season 2 is - as we previously reported - likely to be announced, by the new rights holder LionsGate, very shortly, so stay tuned!
For all the Kaley Cuoco fans, do not forget that her current TV Show "The Big Bang Theory" returns with a bang (forgive the pun) on September 22nd in the US & Canada. You can keep up-to-date with all the Big Bang Theory news on our dedicated BBT fansite: The Big Bang Theory Site.
We would also like to report that we'll be launching a new fan site in a few short weeks for "Two and a Half Men", America's favourite sitcom. We'll bring you more when the site is ready.
On a sadder note, the 5th anniversary of John Ritter's death is fast approaching. September 11th will mark 5 years since the actor died on the set of 8 Simple Rules and, of course, 7 years since the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
Disney do deal on DVDs
Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Disney's DVD distributor, has struck a deal with Lionsgate Home Entertainment for the latter firm to release future DVDs of 8 Simple Rules.
Sources say the reason for the deal is that The Mouse House is busy releasing shows such as Desperate Housewives, and is thus unable to devote time to less popular shows in the Disney catalogue like 8 Simple Rules or Boy Meets World.
Lionsgate Home Entertainment has made numerous deals recently to release shows that belong to companies that aren't going to release them on DVD themselves.
Season 2 of 8 Simple Rules will hopefully be coming soon.
Fiver to air 8 Simple Rules
Five Life is going to air 8 Simple Rules.
It will begin airing next Monday (28th) at 5PM-6PM, a double bill of series 1 episodes. These will air Mondays - Fridays.
Five bought rights to the show last year and began airing the show as part of an ill-fated "teen block". 8 Simple Rules has been off UK airwaves ever since.
Five Life is available on Freeview, Cable & Satellite.
Five Life is rebranding as "Fiver" next Monday and 8 Simple Rules is one of the new programmes been added to the schedule.
Doctors cleared in Ritter case
The jury in the wrongful death case of John Ritter have cleared two doctors of negligence leading to the actors death in 2003.
The jury returned a 9-3 verdict of not-negligent, which means there is no damage judgement against the doctors.
The jury found that one of the doctors, a radiologist, had advised Mr. Ritter in 2001 to seek further medical care for "calcification in three coronary arteries". The jury found Mr. Ritter did not take that advise, although they ruled that Mr. Ritter's failure to seek further medical attention did not lead to the actor's death.
The family of the actor were asking for $64 million in damages, having already received $14 million. The case has seen co-star Katey Sagal and Henry Winkler testify.
The case into Mr. Ritter's wrongful death, closed today with a jury finding the doctors not negligent.
