In Memoriam: Suzanne Pleshette
Suzanne Pleshette, a familiar face on television and a guest star on 8 Simple Rules, passed away Saturday at the age of 70. The actress had been suffering lung cancer for a number of years. She died in her Los Angeles home just days before a ceremony honouring her work was due to take place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony was set to take place on the 31st January 2008, her 71st birthday.
The actress rose to fame playing Bob Newhart's wife on the show of his name, and she became a familiar face on television shows with numerous guest spots including Will & Grace and 8 Simple Rules, where she played Cate's mum in the episodes after John Ritter's death.
Her husband, Tom Poston, died in April last year, also a guest star on 8 Simple Rules.
