Garner Statue Planned Posted 17th July 2005

A group that believes veteran actor James Garner is larger than life wants to erect a statue in his honor that will stand taller than his true height.

Organizers are raising money to build a James Garner Commemorative Plaza and install a 10-foot statue of the star in his hometown of Norman, Okla., reports the AP.

"If you are familiar with Garner through TV, movies and as a director and actor you know he is kind of an icon in Hollywood," says committee member Roy Hamilton.
